About the Position
Our mission at the Davis Center is to provide the highest quality childcare in a loving, supportive, Christian environment. As a licensed childcare provider, we must adhere to numerous regulations set forth by DHS and other agencies. A typical day in the Toddler classroom will include preparing and delivering classroom activities, communicating with staff and parents, and ensuring that the learning environment remains safe at all times. To be a successful toddler teacher, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Abe to pass a background check
• First Aid and CPR Certified, or willing to obtain within the first 90 days
• Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Maintain a positive attitude and communicate respectfully with parents and staff at all times
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• A passion for early childhood development
Responsibilities
· Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development based on TN-ELDS standards
· Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement
· Change diapers as needed, at least every two hours
· Mediating conflict between students and modeling appropriate behaviors
· Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
· Building meaningful relationships with families to provide quality care for their child
· Tracking and informing parents of students' progress
