About the Position
Our mission at the Davis Center is to provide the highest quality childcare in a loving, supportive, Christian environment. As a licensed childcare provider, we must adhere to numerous regulations set forth by DHS and other agencies. A typical day at the center will vary depending on what classroom you are working in. Floating teachers should have a general knowledge of all age groups and be prepared to cover any classroom. Some days you will be in one classroom for the entire day covering for the absence of the lead teacher, other times you will be providing breaks or planning time for staff. Floats are also trained in housekeeping roles around the center, including laundry and sanitizing.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Abe to pass a background check
• Maintain a positive attitude and communicate respectfully with parents and staff at all times
• Patient and supportive approach to the learning process
• Enthusiastic and encouraging
• Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• A passion for early childhood development
Responsibilities
· Engage with young children in activities that are developmentally appropriate
· Foster a positive and healthy learning environment
· Ensure the classroom is kept in a clean and safe condition at all times
· Encourage creative thinking and learning
· Resolve conflicts between children in a positive and appropriate manner
· Gather laundry from classrooms, wash, dry, and fold as needed
· Following lesson plans provided and maintain the daily schedule of the classroom
